This year’s Annual General Meeting of Dunmow Cricket Club CIO is being held in two parts. Part 1 took place on the 14th October, when members voted on the election of trustees, the election of the executive committee, and amendments to the club’s constitution. Part 2 will be held on Friday 15 January 2027 at 7:30pm at Dunmow Cricket Club, when the club accounts will be presented and the remaining club positions will be voted on.
Trustee elections
Andrew Geldard and Paul M Reid stood down as trustees at the meeting. We are delighted to announce that Andrew Geldard was re-elected as a trustee, and that Ben Backhouse was elected as a new trustee.
Committee elections
Members also voted on the executive positions of the club committee: President (non-executive), Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer.
- President (non-executive): Andrew Hood was re-elected.
- Chairperson: Ben Backhouse stood down after serving as chairman, and Paul M Reid was elected as the new chairman.
- Secretary: Joanna Hayes stood down as secretary, and Emma Smith was elected as the new secretary.
- Treasurer: Helen Reid was re-elected.
We would like to thank Ben for his service to the club. He spent a year as vice chair before taking on the role of chairman, which he has held for the past two years. We would also like to thank Joanna, who has been our secretary for the past three years. Their time and commitment have been greatly valued by everyone at the club. Congratulations to Paul and Emma on their elections, and a warm welcome to Ben as he joins the board of trustees.
Constitution amendments
Members also voted on proposed amendments to the club’s constitution. The motion was passed with a unanimous vote by those present, comfortably exceeding the requirement for 75% of votes cast.
Part 2: Friday 15 January 2027, 7:30pm
The second part of the AGM will take place on Friday 15 January 2027 at 7:30pm at Dunmow Cricket Club. At this meeting the club accounts will be disclosed and the other club positions will be voted on. Please put the date in your diary.
