Dunmow Cricket Club attains Charity Status

23 May 2025

On behalf of the Committee, I am delighted to announce that as of today, 23 May 2025, Dunmow Cricket Club has been formally confirmed as having registered Charity status and has been entered onto the Register of Charities with the Registered Charity Number, 1213419.

This represents a significant milestone in our club’s history as it formalises our plans for growth and progression and opens the door up to us applying for more funding and grants to help us achieve our vision to be a successful club for future generations with cricket and supporting facilities to support the needs of our growing community.

As part of Charity status, we need to ensure ongoing good governance and that we are establishing and fulfilling the club’s strategic objectives.  We as a committee are very confident that our four founding trustees of the new charity, Liz Clark, David West, Andrew Geldard and Paul W Reid are the right people to work with us as a committee to make that happen.

Finally, to advise none of this would have been possible without the tireless work, support and experience of Liz Clark who prepared us for and helped us submit the charity application and together with the other trustees will help us thrive and prosper.

Further news on the Charity status and how the Trustees will work with the Committee and membership will follow in due course.  For now, we just wanted to share the fantastic news with you, our membership.

If this is not a reason to come down to the club and celebrate with us tonight, at our Friday junior training session, then I’m not sure what is…
