In conditions that were never ideal and which were frequently a long way from it, Dunmow secured an important win at the lovely Woolpit CC facility.
Winning the toss and bowling initially proved a frustrating experience as chances were missed and the home batsmen lived a charmed life with chances just not going to hand all over the pitch. However, the introduction of Baz Sewell, who had missed the previous week, proved crucial. He claimed the wicket of Bradwell (29) to break the opening partnership of 64 and the provided the inspiration for the rest of the team, as his control and willingness to tempt the batsmen into playing false strokes paid dividends. He bowled unchanged to claim 5-50 from 15 overs, and with support from Joe Gallant (1-34) who claimed the important wicket of Newcome for 62 and Matt Gibson who claimed 2-40, it led Dunmow to a position where the hosts only managed to score 50 runs in the last 15 overs to post 174-8

The weather conditions remained poor, with rain of varying degrees of intensity throughout the second innings. Dunmow made a solid start, Joe Gallant and Luke Swanston making 53 for the first wicket before Gallant fell, bowled by Lilley for 27. He was soon joined in the pavilion by Ollie Rooney (4) and the innings could have been in the balance. However, with the light deteriorating, cool heads were needed and Swanston (61), Paul Reid (19) and ultimately Nick Kesingland (28*) and James Reid (32*) saw Dunmow home in the 37th over for an ultimately convincing win.
