Match report A wonderful game of Peter Coe Cup cricket saw our Under 12's hold their nerve to defeat Writtle by 25 runs and claim a highly creditable 4th win in the competition to end with a 4-3 win/loss record and 4th place in their group of 8.

Writtle won the toss and elected to field. Splendid batting saw us post 184 for 7 from our 25 overs with Alex making a second fifty in the competition (52) and Rosey a teriffic 38, their partnership together was hugely enjoyable to watch.

Oscar (17), Adam (13 no), Aryan (8), Jet (7) and Ollie N (4) also chipped in with valuable contributions.

Writtle's openers put on a magnificent 135 for the opening wicket with Tom Hunter making a fantastic 83 and giving the home side a great chance of a memorable run chase.

Dunmow however held their nerve with Adam Sambles (2-15) and Jamie (1-19) bowling with great maturity and calmness just at the right time backed up with some good fielding in the final overs to see us home after several dropped catches had increased the pressure on themselves. Writtle finished on 159-4.

Huge thanks to Writtle for the best hosting and tea we have had, including ice creams for the kids at the end. A great days cricket. Well done Under 12's.
