Dear all,
Sad as it is, we are now at the end of another successful cricket season and we need to start making plans to close the club until next spring.
As part of these plans, at the end of each season we tidy-up and close the club until the following year.
For this to be successful, we need as many volunteers of all ages as possible to help us do this.
We are therefore asking all of you to give just an hour or two of your time to help on Saturday 5th October between 9AM and 2PM.
Among the tasks to be completed we have to:
- - Clean out score box
- - Paint the score box
- - Empty and sort the container
- - Cut trees down by nets and around the boundary
- - Clean and tidy the clubhouse (including kitchen, bar and changing rooms)
- - Strim the ground
- - Flatten and level mud pile, and seed it
- - Bonfire to clear out dead foliage
- - Paint the boundary boards and veranda
- - Take sponsor’s signs down
- - Tidy grass box area and make seating area
- - Sort the junior kit and prep bags for next season by age group
- - Sort the kitchen plumbing
It doesn’t matter if you are a player, parent of a player, or a grandparent of a player; your time would be extremely appreciated.
We count this time worked towards our fundraising, so we can show to potential sponsors/grantees of our Pavilion Project how much effort we put in (it really does help us get grants). The more people we meet, the better it looks for us.
If you can please drop me an email at joanna.hayes@assuredhr.co.uk by EOD 25 September 2024 to let me know what time you can make it, I will liaise with Alex Rix, who will be managing the event, so that he can assign tasks.
Thanks in advance
Jo
